The Cogeco Fund has also approved equity investments totaling $275,000 in its Production Program for 2 MOW's: Cinémaginaire's La fabrication des mâles, and Portfolio Entertainments's An Officer and a Baby.

The Cogeco Fund was established in 1992 to encourage the development of new Canadian drama, written by Canadian writers. The Development Program operates on the interest generated by a $6 million endowment from COGECO inc. In addition to development loans for dramatic series and MOW's, the Development Program provides development funding to feature film production companies with a slate of productions in development. In 1998, the Fund established its Production Program thanks to contributions from Cogeco Cable Inc, representing approximately $1.7 million annually.

The Cogeco Fund is a not-for-profit corporation managed by a six-member Board of Directors: Ann Dadson, Diane Dubé, Louis Audet, Maurice Myrand, Peter Mortimer and Robert Roy. The Fund is administered by the Independent Production Fund. The next deadlines for applications are February 1 and April 1, 2000. The Feature Film development program deadline is July 1.
